GOAL

Black Diamond Supplements partnered with AVINTIV to transform their online presence into a cutting-edge digital experience that could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with top competitors in the supplement space.

PROBLEM

Black Diamond Supplements’ site structure affected their ability to scale and significantly hampered their brand perception compared to newer, more aggressive competitors.

Additionally, their previous SEO efforts had left the site with minimal keyword rankings, poor technical health, and a weak backlink profile. Throughout 2017 and 2018, a lot of the major brands in the supplement industry started to go towards a very bright and blue color scheme for their branding and product packaging. After taking a deep dive into Black Diamond Supplement’s customers and what demographic they were, we knew that it was time for a brand overhaul. We refreshed the logo with a strong, bold typeface with sharp cuts. The brand identity and color scheme of white, charcoal grey, and teal provides a lightweight, approachable appeal.

Brand Style Guide

Black Diamond Supplements, like a lot of supplement brands, had a very outdated logo and brand identity. It wasn’t keeping up with a lot of the changes the larger supplement brands were making. We implemented a brand refresh for Black Diamond Supplements, which included a new and improved logo and style guide. Customers have enjoyed the update as see that the owner cares to stay current with the market.

Black Diamond Supplements had a very outdated website with poor user experience and little brand recognition. There were over 190,000 SEO errors to fix. Yes, you read that correctly. It was a massive project. We built the 1900 page responsive eCommerce website from the ground up utilizing Wordpress as their CMS.

Our SEO efforts included keyword research, competitor audits, and a 12-month strategy targeting 75+ high-value keywords. We resolved over 7,000 technical issues, improved site health from 70% to over 90%, and disavowed hundreds of toxic backlinks while earning authoritative ones. As a result, BDS saw a 263% increase in net sales, an 18-point boost in site health, and steady keyword growth.
